My Current Daily Makeup Routine

My daily makeup routine remains very simple. Especially if I'm having to wake up and be in uni for a 9am lecture, most of the time I don't even bother making the effort with such early starts to the day. But in today's post I'll be showing you what I do brush onto my face if I'm in the mood for makeup and I have that extra bit of time.

I always have to prep my lips with my Carmex lip balm, nothing else works as good as this.

The Ordinary was highly talked about during 2017 and so off course I ordered some stuff from their website. I first apply the High- Spreadability Fluid Primer  which I am obsessed with, it creates such a smooth canvas before makeup application. For a little extra help around my oily areas I then apply the High Adherence Silicone Primer  which also works just as well.

For foundation I switch between the NYX Stay Matte But Not Flat Liquid Foundation (colour 06 Medium Beige) or The Ordinary Coverage Foundation (colours 2.1Y & 3.0Y). I have had such a nightmare when it comes to foundations. I've tested out so many different high end and drugstore foundations and in the end these two have worked best for me and suite my skin tone and colour. Both are matte and create a medium to full coverage. I apply them with my Zoeva Rose Golden Volume 2 104 Buffer Brush or my Real Techniques Brush Crush V1 301 Complexion Brush

Similarly to foundations, I can never find a good concealer. However, towards the end of 2017 L'Oreal released their True Match Concealer (6D Gold Honey). This colour is a great match for me to add coverage and brightness under my eyes and the high points of my face.

So that my face doesn't turn into a shiny disco ball, I use the NYX High Definition Finishing Powder (Translucent)

When it comes to bronzer I switch between the Zoeva Nude Spectrum Blush Palette (Nude) and the B. Matte Bronzer (Dark). Again, I can never find colours to suite my skin but these work really well.

I use a pink blusher from Sephora which I picked up in Dubai but I definitely want to look for some coral colour blushes, let me know your favourite brands for blusher.

My highlight of choice is the classic MAC Mineralize Skinfinish (Soft&Gentle)

I am obsessed with L'Oreal for their mascaras, I don't think I will ever switch to another brand for this. I've used the L'Oreal Voluminous Carbon Black mascara for years now. I have recently purchased the new paradise mascara but I'm yet to try this.

I love the Kat Von D 'Everlasting Liquid Lipstick' (Lolita 1) and I also have Lolita 2. I have nothing bad to sat about this product and I'm desperate to get more shades!

When it comes to eyeshadow I have been loving the Urban Decay Naked Heat Palette and using the Maybelline Color Tattoo as a base to make the shadows slightly more pigmented, not crease and just last longer.

I hope you've enjoyed seeing what my daily makeup routine looks like. Let me know if you've used any of the products above and I would love to know what staple products are in your makeup kit.

Who Killed Jason Blossom?: Riverdale

The most talked about show lately, Riverdale, is an American series based on characters within the Archie Comics. The first episode aired January 26 2017 with a first season of thirteen episodes. The second season aired October 11 2017 and is still currently airing weekly episodes. All episodes can be found on Netflix which you have time to catch up on before the second half of season 2 continues to air from January 17th.

What seems to be just a regular, quiet and innocent town, turns out to be one full of mystery and evil, that begin to unravel when a high school boy gets murdered. A group of misfits team together to uncover who killed Jason Blossom whilst battling some demons of their own. Riverdale isn't your Game of Thrones or Gossip Girl but it is still a great show with a gripping story line. Season 2 is about a man known as the 'Black Hood' cleansing the town of sinners. This time the team must work to uncover the identity of this killer.

First up for my favourite characters, we have Veronica Lodge (Camila Mendes), former New York party 'it' girl. Her sense of style, the way she composes herself and her no bullshit attitude are just a few of the many reasons why she's my favourite character. We also have Cheryl Blossom (Madelaine Petsch), the striking red head, captain of the cheerleader squad and Riverdale High's 'it' girl. I feel as though she has a lot of mystery to her and a lot of emotion that continues to unravel but quickly comes to a halt to not reveal too much at a time, she's suffered through a lot but image is still everything for her. In many ways herself and Veronica are a lot alike. I also love Alice Cooper (Madchen Amik), Betty Cooper's (Lili Reinhart) mum, she's always trying to uncover the latest dramas that continue to happen throughout the town, reporting them in her newspaper, she has such a strong and fun side too which is always interesting to watch.

Have you watched Riverdale? Who are your favourite characters?

should the word "normal" even exist?

Hello again. So I'm fully aware I've taken a very long break from this whole world. I was busy with my final year of A Levels and then I moved to Brighton to start my university course and I'm so excited to start my second year. I really want to get back into blogging as it was a really fun hobby for me.

As for now be prepared, this might be a bit of a rant post with a few thoughts I've had on my mind recently.

Isn't sad how almost everyone has spent their time at some point gossiping about what other people are wearing, their makeup, who they're talking to, what they're doing with the life or even what they are posting on social media. Don't get me wrong, I'm such a culprit of doing this, it seems so natural to instantly judge someone whether that be bad or even good but I'm really trying to make an effort to stop.

Whilst you're spending your life being bitter over someone else, who will probably never know what you're saying, they are most likely living their lives happily without giving you a second thought.

That bring me on to the title of this post. The word normal annoys me so much. Who even classified what things are normal or abnormal? Normal can mean so many different things to different people, that it's hard to overall decide what is normal and what's not. For example, it's considered normal when girls wear makeup but when it's a guy wearing makeup there is so much controversy over it, suddenly many wont think it's "normal" but there are so many who do and who don't think twice about it. Or I hate how people judge what others are wear, just because that's not your style, doesn't mean someone else can't wear it. What annoys me the most is seeing negative comments on peoples YouTube channels or Instagram posts, if you don't like that person, then unfollow them, why waste your time making someone else feel bad.

Everyone is their own individual person, with their own body and so if you don't like what someone is putting on it or doing with it, then why carry on looking? Forget about that person and focus on making yourself happy.

Off course it's only natural to have an opinion and if it's a nice one then go ahead, share it with that person, put a smile on their face and it will make you feel good to. I feel as though people think that you need their approval to wear or do certain things and that's not the case.

Okay, rant over. Let me know your thoughts, do you agree or disagree with me?
